This Underwriting Intern position involves a range of critical tasks to support underwriting operations. Key responsibilities include processing blocked pending renewals, identifying and resolving outstanding underwriting requirements, and reviewing and validating policy documentation such as vehicle photos and usage details. The intern will also be responsible for identifying and addressing undisclosed drivers, updating activity descriptions to streamline processing, and managing foreclosure or vacancy-related activities to ensure proper underwriting action. Further duties involve performing cleanup for policy conversion accuracy, completing conversion renewals transactions, and reviewing and uploading underwriting quote documents. The role requires monitoring and resolving items on various lists, preparing and issuing legal notices and policy change letters, and reviewing property inspections. All actions must comply with underwriting guidelines, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, an ability to identify documentation gaps, an understanding of policy transactions (renewals, rewrites, conversions), the capacity to interpret underwriting guidelines and risk indicators, strong organizational and time-management skills, and effective written communication for documentation and customer correspondence.
