About The Position

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is currently seeking a bright and motivated Underwriting Intern on our Management Liability team who is interested in learning from a talented team of experts about specialty insurance and underwriting principles. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced Management Liability Underwriting Managers and individual contributors on the management liability team. This full-time, paid position is based in our Downtown Chicago, IL office, located at 230 W Monroe Street. The projected start date is early June 2026 and the internship will last approximately 8-10 weeks.

Requirements

• Must be working towards a Risk Management, Insurance, or Business focused degree.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Ability to work well under pressure and on multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Outstanding organization and time management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel for business purposes.

Nice To Haves

• Preference will be given to those who have completed insurance or financial analysis coursework.
• Previous internship experience in insurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge about corporate insurance functions and the specialty market place.
• Assist professionals with day-to-day underwriting assignments and special projects.
• Perform some of the work of entry-level underwriters.
