About The Position

The UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT is responsible for providing administrative support to Underwriting team, including monitoring email correspondence, rating, file documentation, and completing other administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Required)
  • Mastery of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, is dependable and follows through.
  • Ability to read and interpret information.
  • High level of maturity to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people throughout the organization.
  • Willingness to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional shifts which meet the needs of the team and company.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year minimum industry experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes submissions.
  • Utilizes technology to compute rates and premiums for new business submissions, endorsements and cancellations
  • Gathers and investigates background information to effectively assess the risk involved.
  • Services all accounts, including resolving agent inquires, complaints, requests and policy processing.
