The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating, negotiating, and making decisions on loan requests from multiple originating sources. This role requires sound credit judgment within established approval guidelines and full compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as OneMain policies. In the Role Assess credit factors, loan risk, appraisals, and yields. Recommend loan terms and conditions through effective communication and collaboration with internal and external partners. Balance risk and reward to ensure credit quality and profitability. Qualifications HS Diploma / GED. Strong customer communication skills. Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations with high integrity. Independent thinker with strong learning agility. Detail‑oriented and results‑driven. Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Experience in Direct Lending or Non‑Prime Lending preferred.
