Leeville - Underground Superintendent, Maintenance
About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Mobile Maintenance Superintendent for its Leeville underground operations. This role is for a maintenance professional looking for career growth with a dynamic mining company. Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world, producing approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold a year. Requirements
- Budgeting and cost management experience required
- Excellent safety and environmental track record required
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project and MS Outlook required
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and work effectively in a team required
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required
Nice To Haves
- BSc degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mine Engineering or equivalent trade qualifications preferred
- Ten (10) years direct experience to maintenance and reliability of mining equipment preferred
- Mobile, fixed and electrical background preferred
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems such as Oracle and eAM preferred
- Proficiency in conducting failure analysis and root cause investigation techniques preferred
Responsibilities
- Implementation of Leeville Underground’s equipment asset maintenance strategy to ensure sound maintenance practices.
- Establish and implement plans, policies, and procedures which extend the useful life of existing equipment.
- Optimize preventive existing maintenance plans and programs thereby reducing downtime related to equipment.
- Ensure all equipment performance targets and work management KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) are achieved within the constraints of the maintenance budget.
- Effectively promote, deploy, and comply with all Safety & Health and Environmental policies, standards, procedures, and regulations across the Mobile Maintenance department.
- Develop annual budgets, prepare and submit capital budget, participate in incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented and tracked.
