About The Position

We are looking for Underground Senior Geotechnical Engineers to join Nevada Gold Mines across our different mine sites. The successful candidate will perform work which involves visual inspections of the underground mining activities to identify rock hazards, provide recommendations and monitor excavation performance. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology required
• Geotechnical Experience: Minimum 5 years of Underground Geotechnical Design Work preferred
• Experience with rock mass classification systems, geotechnical analysis, structural mapping, ground support designs and underground mining QA/QC programs required
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently required

Nice To Haves

• Familiarization with various geotechnical software packages preferred
• Team leadership, problem solving, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills preferred
• Flexibility in work hours for on-call and call-outs, as needed preferred

Responsibilities

• Independently perform work which involves visual inspections of the underground mining activities to identify rock hazards, provide recommendations and monitor excavation performance.
• Ensure adherence to the Ground Control standards and maintain the ground support QA/QC program, such as rockbolt pull-testing and UCS of shotcrete and backfill.
• Utilize rock mechanics properties to design ground support as needed.
• Collect, analyze and report on geotechnical monitoring data and maintain databases.
• Review and advise on mine and stope designs.
• Assist with ground control safety training programs.
• Supervision of consultants and contractors, as necessary.
• The candidate will also periodically assist with geotechnical mapping underground and geotechnical core logging for specific drill programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
