About The Position
The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. We are working to center social justice in our internal and external work as a school and are committed to addressing structural and institutional racism, and to holding ourselves accountable to this work. Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide.
Requirements
- Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours)
- Word processing
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative skills
- Problem solving
Nice To Haves
- Rising Junior or Senior
- Completed coursework in environmental science or environmental studies (incl. chemistry, biology, earth science, oceanography, etc.)
- Knowledge of coastal ecology
- Completion of written research projects
- Knowledge of literature review process
- Experience with data visualization techniques
- Knowledge of social network analysis
- Familiarity with surveys
Responsibilities
- Literature searches and information gathering
- Making systems maps using kumu or word processing software
- Summarizing information in written and visual form
- Performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis
