About The Position

The Department of Architecture seeks an Undergraduate Program Coordinator to join our administrative team. This integral role provides comprehensive support for the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) professional degree program and plays a key part in course and curriculum coordination. This position works closely with colleagues across the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, including teams in AAP Admissions, AAP Student Services, and AAP Communications, as well as peers in other academic departments. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY and fully on-site. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The Department of Architecture dates to the founding of Cornell University. The department engages urgent global issues through a foundation of conceptual thinking and processes of making and is committed to architectural practices informed by and embedding within evolving and dynamic social, environmental, and technical contexts. Requirements

• An Associate’s degree, and 4-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
• Great communication skills (exhibiting professionalism in spoken and written encounters) with the desire to provide excellent service.
• Aptitude to establish and maintain excellent relationships with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
• Top-notch problem-solving skills and a desire to use these skills to help others.
• Aptitude to be flexible and adjust priorities as needed.
• Careful attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze recurring issues and propose creative, sustainable solutions impacting multiple units.
• Excellent organization skills and aptitude to be proactive.
• Expertise with typical business software, including Microsoft Office Suite, as well as database management and manipulation (e.g., Airtable or Smartsheet) and financial management tools, and/or the ability to gain fluency quickly.
• Ability to learn new programs/tools quickly and to adapt to changing policies and procedures.
• Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree, and additional experience in a busy office or academic setting.
• Significant experience within higher education, particularly working directly with students and/or faculty.

Responsibilities

• Advising undergraduate students on degree requirements, policies, curriculum, admissions, and course-related questions
• Coordinating undergraduate and graduate classes within the department
• Collaboratively stewarding multi-department and multi-college curricular offerings to ensure consistent implementation of academic policies
• Serving as a departmental representative to college- and university-level committees, workgroups, and cross-unit curricular initiatives
• Providing course and administrative support to faculty
• Coordinating the undergraduate thesis review process
• Supporting regular room assignments and one-off scheduling requests
• Acting as the department’s primary liaison to college and university offices that support undergraduate student needs
• Working collaboratively with department staff to support broader faculty and student needs
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance curricular operations, workflows, and interdepartmental coordination
