The student will work with me on the 3D partonic structure of the proton from lattice QCD. To be specific, we will develop a new technique to renormalize the nonlocal gluon bilinear operators using step scaling. The student will generate multiple ensembles of SU(3) gauge configurations and carry out measurements of the nonlocal gluon operators. Then, they will implement our method to determine the renormalization factors of the nonlocal operator for each lattice ensemble. Education and Experience Requirements The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States. Applicants must be: Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution. Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
