Job Description: As an Unclaimed Property Senior Staff, you will be an integral part of the Tax team delivering outstanding client service in a dynamic team-based environment. Client services include annual compliance outsourcing, audit defense, voluntary disclosure, risk assessment, and policy and procedure enhancement. Responsibilities may include research on state unclaimed property matters, preparing annual compliance reports, tracking document requests and remediation support, data analysis and strategy development. Researching client issues and regularly communicating finding with managers and clients is a vital part of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar
  • CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA, JD, or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of forward-thinking experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend
  • Be a self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to grow strong client and team relationships
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing both internally and externally
  • Work effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist companies with multi-state unclaimed property matters including assessments, audit defense, or voluntary disclosure agreement process
  • Prepare companies for examination(s) and voluntary disclosures by describing forthcoming requests and knowledge of the process
  • Represent clients on auditor and state discussions regarding the current status of the examination or voluntary disclosures and respond to information document requests
  • Tracking client requests and submissions and assisting with record review (i.e. tax documents, accounting records, policies and procedures, etc.)
  • Performing data analysis to identify potential unclaimed property risks
  • Developing and presenting the client with strategies to mitigate potential unclaimed property exposure
  • Aiding in drafting final deliverables and reports for client and state submission
