About The Position
As a Unarmed Security Guard - Retail Patrol in San Mateo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail or mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and tenants by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in a retail or mall environment.
- Assist with emergency response activities as needed, following established protocols for retail and mall locations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the business premises and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter theft, disturbances, and other unwanted behaviors.
- Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual situations encountered during patrols.
- Communicate professionally with the public, staff, and law enforcement as required.
