As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine patrols by vehicle and on foot, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support store teams and guests with professional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances and/or exits, receiving areas, parking areas and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and policy violations, helping to deter theft, vandalism and/or disorderly conduct through visible presence and professional communication.
  • Observe customer and associate activity, document unusual conditions and report concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Control access to restricted areas as directed by site policy, verifying credentials and/or authorizations when required.
  • Provide assistance with lost and found items, customer questions, wayfinding and/or other service requests while maintaining post orders.
  • Complete routine reports, incident documentation and shift logs in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Coordinate response activities with store management and local public services as needed, including support during medical situations, disturbances and/or evacuations.
  • Operate communication equipment and follow radio protocol to relay information, request support and/or escalate issues per site procedures.
