About The Position

This position involves performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound to diagnose disease processes and delineate normal/abnormal anatomy and pathological conditions in the human body. Requirements

Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within one year of completing the ultrasound program.
New Graduate or 1 year of general radiology experience required.
Operate Ultrasound equipment effectively to produce quality images.
Ability to work flexible hours and alternate shifts.
Rotate on call for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.
Able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as radiological field advances.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Sonography and pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skill levels in: Area of expertise to ensure production of high quality images; Safe operation of equipment and accessories with proper warm-up exposure, daily QC and good reporting techniques.
Performs correct exam on correct patient
Follows the PACS and Meditech workflow
Consults with the radiologist on duty to assure correct scanning parameters when necessary
Provides excellent patient care and creates an environment in which customers feel valued and respected.
Demonstrates a caring and interested manner.
Effectively communicates and problem-solves with customers.
Maintains HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality at all times.
Follows all department team expectations.
Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.
