About The Position

We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist I, also referred to as an Ultrasound Tech or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Ultrasound Technologists will operate ultrasound equipment to produce images of our patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. Your expertise in ultrasound technology, anatomy, and patient care contributes to the delivery of quality healthcare services in our hospital. Requirements

  • RDMS (ARDMS) or S (ARRT) certification in at least one body or region required within 90 days of hire and maintain.
  • Graduate an accredited ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire.
  • Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and maintain current.
  • Proficient computer skills

  • Previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients to explain the procedure, obtain relevant medical history, and address any concerns, ensure patient comfort and privacy during the ultrasound examination, and assist with positioning patients to optimize imaging
  • Operate ultrasound machines to perform diagnostic imaging studies as requested by physicians or other healthcare providers, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images of the targeted anatomy or pathology
  • Use the transducer (probe) to transmit high-frequency sound waves into the body and capture the returning echoes to create real-time images, manipulate the transducer and adjust imaging parameters to obtain multiple views and optimize image quality
  • Interpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identify any abnormalities or pathology that may be present and collaborate with radiologists or physicians to provide accurate diagnostic information
  • In addition to conventional diagnostic ultrasound imaging, you may perform Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow patterns and detect abnormalities such as vascular occlusions, stenosis, or thrombosis
