About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team on a stand-by call basis. The primary function of this role is to provide coverage for urgent and emergent venous Doppler examinations (upper and lower extremity venous duplex ultrasounds) when on call. This position is ideal for an experienced sonographer looking for flexible, part-time call opportunities while maintaining work-life balance.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field required
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by ARDMS or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS or Equivalent vascular credential (RVS by CCI)
• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent clinical experience performing venous Doppler exams required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during call shifts

Nice To Haves

• Vascular registry strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality venous Doppler ultrasound exams (upper and lower extremities) for inpatients and emergency department patients during call shifts
• Respond promptly to call-back requests and arrive at the hospital within the designated response time
• Accurately document findings and complete all required paperwork in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure timely and appropriate patient care
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and adhere to all infection control and safety protocols
• Follow established protocols for venous duplex imaging, including evaluation for deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
• Provide excellent patient care with compassion and professionalism during off-hours
