About The Position

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for The Hospital of Central Connecticut, an acute-care community teaching hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. The role involves performing diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. Ultrasound Technologists perform a wide range of procedures including abdominal, pelvic, gynecologic, small parts, Doppler studies, and interventional procedures. The technologist must apply an understanding of growth and development principles to assess and provide individualized, age-specific treatment and care to patients from birth through the end of life.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program specializing in Sonography
• Credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – ARDMS or RDMS
• Proficient in real time, color flow, doppler, transvaginal, biopsies, interventional procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure
• Provide quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation
• Perform all aspects of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, gynecologic, small parts, Doppler studies and interventional procedures
• Utilize an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s individual age specific needs
• Provide individualized age specific treatment and care
