This role involves performing diagnostic sonographic examinations, scheduling and coordinating tests, recording results, and maintaining operational logs. The technician is also responsible for calibrating and maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, explaining procedures to patients, and preparing exam rooms. Adherence to HIPAA requirements and strict confidentiality of patient information is crucial. The technician must alert medical staff of any abnormalities and operate equipment under authorized diagnostic approaches, problem-solving and making decisions regarding patient testing, and performing other assigned duties.
