Requirements

  • A student currently enrolled in accredited ultrasound program by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) in Canada Required
  • 1 year as a student in are accredited Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Canadian Medical Association (CMA) program Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Basic Life Support (BLS) certified Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of routine and complex ultrasound procedures according to established standards and practices under the direct and/or indirect supervision of an experienced or lead ultrasound/vascular technologist.
  • Performs ultrasound imaging such as pelvic, abdominal, small parts, and routine vascular examinations (ex., peripheral vascular [arterial and venous], renal, aorta/iliac, and carotid artery) and may perform more complex imaging such as breast ultrasound, deep Doppler and guided interventional procedures (ex., biopsies).
  • Prepares preliminary findings.
  • Provides patient care to all age groups including neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
