About The Position

We seek a friendly, reliable, and flexible team ultrasound sonographer to work alongside 16 sonographers, 1 genetic counselor, and 3 front desk team members in a supportive patient focused culture. Enjoy a Monday-Friday (7:45am-4:15pm) schedule with no call, weekends, or holidays. We provide world-class diagnostic screenings and evaluations for patients who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or experiencing pelvic/abdominal pain or related complications. Our team of specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, clinical genetics and OB/GYN sonography have the advanced technologies and knowledge to provide our patients precise screening and expert evaluations. As part of our team, performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physicians, you'll gain experience working with high-risk patients, multiples, and very unique experiences collaborating with physicians, residents, and fellows with inpatient and outpatient patients. We seek to optimize the outcome for all pregnancies, regardless of risk, using an integrated care approach, cutting edge technology and coordination of care with referring physicians. Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardio - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • No specific work experience is required for this position.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, correcting patient history with examination and presents study to physician for examination while adhering to patient schedules.
  • Assists physicians with procedures, providing sonographic guidance during process, obtains necessary supplies and equipment and monitors patient needs assisting physicians with patient support.
  • Teaches ultrasound procedures and techniques to visitors in the department such as residents, students, fellows and new sonographers and enhances own professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and conferences.
  • Maintains documentation as required including patient files, performs data entry and completes paperwork needed for procedures/processes.
  • Develops film through automatic processing, monitoring darkroom supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Performs phlebotomy and injections when required.
  • Assists with maintaining supplies and equipment.
  • Assists clerical staff with front desk support when needed.
