About The Position
The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for supporting the crew by assisting with the installation/repair of underground power lines. Duties also include gathering materials needed to complete daily work at the jobsite while promoting a safe work environment. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel within various departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in utilities or construction.
- A CDL Class A license.
Nice To Haves
- 2 or more years of experience in the construction and/or the utility industry.
Responsibilities
- Gather materials for the job that day and make sure the crew has everything required.
- Distribute material at job site safely.
- Help with any work necessary to complete the job.
- Operate construction and jobsite equipment safely; equipment includes rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, trencher, and mini excavators.
