About The Position

Videray Technologies exists to create a safer society across the globe. We have created some of the world’s most powerful, user-friendly, and ultra-portable handheld x-ray inspection devices to help our clients see through surfaces to detect illicit drugs, contraband, and potential threats. Our technology is already progressing on this mission domestically and internationally in over 80 countries. You’ll be working with a fun, intelligent, and driven group of individuals to ensure we can continue fulfilling this mission for years to come! We are seeking a U.S. Federal Government Sales & Strategic Engagement Manager to join our team. Reporting to our Chief Commercial Officer, this role will be responsible for establishing, expanding, and sustaining Videray’s presence, credibility, and engagement across U.S. Federal and Government-related entities. This is a relationship-driven, strategic commercial role, focused on early engagement, market education, and opportunity development within public-sector environments. The position emphasizes long-term institutional relationships rather than short-term transactional sales. The role requires continuous in-person engagement in Washington, DC, close interaction with government stakeholders, and coordination with internal teams and external partners to support informed acquisition decisions. This is a contract role with the opportunity to transition to Full-time.

Requirements

  • Strong preference for a former Law Enforcement Officer, Federal Agent, Military Officer, or Government Official
  • Will also consider Government affairs, public-sector sales, defense/security policy, congressional or agency liaison experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with:
  • Government agencies and public-sector institutions
  • Acquisition, policy, or program environments
  • Prior sales experience is beneficial but not required; success in relationship-building and institutional navigation is essential
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Government organizational structures
  • How operational requirements are identified and refined
  • Public-sector decision-making processes
  • Comfortable engaging with senior officials, technical users and/or program and acquisition personnel
  • Able to communicate complex technology clearly, credibly, and appropriately
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and disciplined
  • Relationship-oriented and trusted by stakeholders
  • Politically and institutionally astute
  • Comfortable operating in complex, long-cycle environments
  • Ethical, discreet, and professional
  • Results-focused with patience for government timelines
  • Must reside in or near Washington, DC
  • Role requires frequent in-person engagement in Washington, D.C. that cannot be effectively performed remotely

Responsibilities

  • Government & Institutional Relationship Development
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with: U.S. Federal Agencies (e.g., CBP, DEA, DHS components, DOJ task forces, DOD-related entities)
  • State and government-affiliated organizations
  • Technical users, program managers, and acquisition stakeholders
  • Represent Videray in meetings, briefings, demonstrations, and industry engagement activities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for government-facing commercial interactions in the U.S.
  • Early Engagement & Opportunity Development
  • Engage with agencies early in the acquisition lifecycle to:
  • Understand emerging operational needs
  • Provide technical insight and solution awareness
  • Support clarity around use cases and performance requirements
  • Participate in pre-solicitation activities such as:
  • RFIs
  • Industry days
  • Technical briefings and capability demonstrations
  • Coordinate with distributors and integrators while maintaining Videray’s strategic visibility and positioning
  • Government Acquisition Pathways & Funding Awareness (Preferred / Optional Expertise)
  • Develop working knowledge of:
  • U.S. government acquisition frameworks and procurement processes
  • International and government-funded programs, including but not limited to:

  • Government market perception of Videray solutions
  • Competitive landscape and positioning
  • Emerging agency priorities and operational challenges
  • Act as a liaison between government stakeholders and internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations)
  • Support internal alignment by translating field intelligence into actionable commercial insights
  • Partner & Ambassador Collaboration
  • Work closely with Videray Ambassadors (former LE / federal professionals) to maximize reach and credibility
  • Support Local Partners and integrators without competing against them
  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning across all government-facing engagements
