About The Position

The TV Editor is a critical role within Signal Media, is a versatile and detail-oriented professional responsible for transforming raw footage into compelling, brand-aligned video content, primarily for digital and broadcast platforms. This role works closely with a TV Producer and requires expert proficiency in post-production (editing, motion graphics, color, and audio) and a strong foundation in storytelling and script adaptation. They will serve as a key resource in the pre-production phase through script adaptation and provide crucial logistical and technical support on set to ensure efficient, compliant, and top-tier final content.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in video editing, post-production, or a related role.
  • Expert proficiency in professional non-linear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro). Strong foundational knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and text integration.
  • Basic understanding of cameras, lighting, and audio principles. Experience operating basic production equipment is a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, essential for meeting compliance standards, script continuity, and maintaining brand consistency across diverse projects.
  • Working with a sense of urgency to meet broadcast deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take creative direction, manage client expectations, and thrive in a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Video Editing: Execute the full post-production workflow for a high volume of assets, including commercials, 30-minute segments, client testimonials, and diverse short-form social media content for various platforms.
  • Creative Storytelling: Transform raw footage into impactful narratives through skillful editing, pacing, music selection, sound design, and color grading.
  • Motion Graphics & Branding: Design and integrate professional on-screen graphics, lower-thirds, company branding, and critical compliance disclosures (legal fine print).
  • Media Management: Efficiently organize, back up, and maintain a secure digital library of project files, footage, stock assets, and final deliverables.
  • Quality & Compliance: Work closely with the TV Producer to ensure all videos meet broadcast standards and strictly adhere to internal brand and external regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Delivery: Send broadcast video to outlets and affiliates across the country.
  • Script and Content Development: Assist in writing, editing, and formatting broadcast scripts for live, local television segments and digital marketing videos, ensuring content aligns with financial compliance standards and the advisor’s brand voice.
  • On-Set Assistance: Provide essential production support on-location video projects, operating camera, teleprompter, or managing basic lighting and audio equipment setup.
  • Compliance Review: Act as quality control check, ensuring all visual elements, including testimonials and outcome claims, meet the firm's strict compliance requirements before final approval.
