About The Position

Under direct supervision, this position supports the Tutoring Centers’ mission to promote student success and independent learning through both individual and collaborative efforts. The role serves as a central communication link between departments, coordinates technology issues by working with external support teams, and ensures effective information sharing among staff, college partners, and students using innovative technology solutions. Additionally, this position assists the Tutoring Centers Manager with administrative tasks, scheduling, and resource coordination, while welcoming and supporting students to create an inclusive and respectful learning environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Office management/office assistant experience preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, or Google products.
  • Ability to work with all student populations, as well as with administrators, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as proper phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to project a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor while greeting students and visitors.
  • Possess good judgment and flexibility, including the ability to adapt to unexpected challenges as needed.
  • Ability to positively represent the College and foster a learning environment supportive of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Aid students with Tutoring Center processes and basic technology navigation (e.g., Workday, Canvas).
  • Create and update job aids, promotional materials, and website content using modern design tools, including Adobe and Microsoft products.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, prepare student information reports, and maintain updated records for departmental use.
  • Assist with scheduling and clerical tasks for the Tutoring Centers Manager and department staff, including department email communication.
  • Process budget transactions, including assessing materials needs, ordering and distributing materials and supplies, and reconciling expense statements.
  • Work closely with department staff to report and resolve technology issues (e.g., TracCloud) through external support channels.
  • Provide training for front desk and part-time staff on departmental procedures and technology tools.
  • Promote departmental culture and provide training to tutoring staff as needed.
  • Complete all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
