About The Position

To provide small group, in-class and out-of-class instruction. Working with the classroom teachers, administration, and academic Coordinators to provide rigorous small group strategies and skills instruction in-class and out-of-class. Administer and document formal, informal and progress monitoring assessments. Meet routinely with the math specialist and Intervention team using data to discuss students’ progress and needs. Responsible for creating and updating RTI plans and reports. Willingness to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture. Engage in a continuous cycle of feedback and improvement regarding instruction, planning, and classroom culture. Evaluate and recommend materials and programs beneficial for the intervention program. Incorporates technology when appropriate in tutoring sessions. Foster a positive relationship with students, staff, and family. Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching at the secondary level per the Massachusetts Frameworks preferred.
  • Completed at least two years of study at an institute of higher education, obtained at least an associate degree or meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to assist in instruction ELA.
  • You are required to be physically capable of escorting students from the building in case of a practice drill or emergency situation in a safe and timely fashion.
  • Must be able to move about the classroom and have the ability to bend, sit or stand frequently.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Google classroom, Google meet, and iReady helpful.
  • Understanding of or experience using Bridges program and math manipulatives helpful.
