About The Position

The Hourly Mariachi Music Tutor provides academic support and guidance to students, tailoring instruction to meet individual needs and learning styles. Offers feedback and encouragement to boost students' confidence and academic performance. This is a temporary grant funded position with no set end date at this time. This position is temporary, and grant funded year to year - Continuation of the position is contingent on grant funding.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED Required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing instructional support to students is required
• High degree of confidentiality
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to take responsibility for one's own performance
• Works collaboratively with others on a team
• Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to coordinate and work effectively with site staff and a diverse student population
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
• Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Tutors students in assigned subject area(s), working one-on-one or in small groups
• Provides personalized instruction using a variety of methods to meet the needs of different learners
• Reinforces concepts presented in school, helping students to grasp difficult concepts, work through problems and improve overall academic performance
• Helps students develop effective study skills
• Maintains a positive and supportive learning environment
• Tracks student progress and provides feedback to program staff
• Makes suggestions for additional resources or materials to enhance learning
