About The Position

As Turnaround Cost Controls Advisor III, you will play a key role in shaping project outcomes, collaborating with diverse professionals, and ensuring financial discipline throughout every project phase. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of project management or project controls experience in the Energy industry
  • Intermediate proficiency working directly with SAP (PM & PS Modules) and Microsoft Suites

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency working in TA Cost Planning / Forecasting software
  • 5 or more years in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Industry with highlights in project management or project controls
  • 5 or more years of experience in: Planning, Scheduling, Tracking, Estimating, Forecasting
  • Skilled in Planning, Management, and Cost Control
  • Able to provide TA management with expert analysis of TA cost performance, ongoing detail TA costs including communication of opportunities/concerns to the team
  • Managed forecast for large TA events (over $100MM/1 million MHRS)
  • Direct knowledge of IPS TA planning & cost forecast software
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6
  • Familiarity with refinery turnaround processes, procedures, and terminology
  • Direct experience leading a team

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust cost control systems to support large-scale turnaround projects
  • Prepare and analyze project cost estimates, forecasts, and reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with budgets and schedules
  • Lead cost analysis and advise project leaders on cost trends and variances, identifying opportunities for cost optimization
  • Oversee project-based invoicing, support labor projections, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to facilitate cost risk mitigation, contingency planning, and the migration of conceptual estimates to definitive project controls
  • Manage cost data input, reporting, and documentation using tools like SAP, Primavera, and IPS to track progress and support turnaround milestones
  • Prepare and present clear cost reports, support contracting and compensation strategies, and lead cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards
  • Foster continuous improvement, share insights with stakeholders, and contribute to a culture of accountability and excellence
