About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintains athletic fields for various sports.
Operates a reel mower, tractor, power-spray unit and skid steer loader.
May use other grounds equipment such as trimmers, edgers and backpack and street blowers.
Applies fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides to turf areas.
Adheres to OSHA standards, and other applicable federal and state regulations when working with hazardous chemicals, materials and power equipment.
Uses personal protective equipment as required.
May drive utility vehicles to and from work sites.
Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of experience operating multi-gang reel mowers or related equipment in an athletic field or golf course environment.
Knowledge of basic turf care principles of fertilization, aeration, mowing and pest control.
A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
A Category 24 Pesticide License or the ability to obtain one within six months.
Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
