About The Position

The Engineer in Generator Electrical Design is an individual contributor. The major thrust of this position is leading the electrical design activities within projects to support R&D, Tendering and Requisition Engineering.

Requirements

  • MSc in Electrical Power Engineering with emphasis in Electric Power and Rotating Machinery.
  • Proficiency with commercial Electro-magnetic packages.
  • Experience in designing rotating electrical machinery is required, preferably in large rotating machines
  • Oral and written communication skills in English and preferable also in second language
  • High Energy team player, with good communication skills
  • Creative and Innovative mindset, focused upon quality, cost and performance.
  • Ability to learn, analytical mind, accuracy, self-reliance
  • Pragmatic outlook
  • Innovation, creativity and accountability
  • Ability to work with a multi-location and multi-cultural team
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform requisition electrical design activities for Turbogenerators, meeting schedules and cost objectives.
  • Adaptation of electrical standard documentation to project specific requirements
  • Perform Design Analysis in terms of electrical, electromagnetic, thermal and ventilation aspects
  • Support Manufacturing, Sourcing, Erection and Commissioning activities as required.
  • Interface with other design groups in the company.
  • Support Cost-out, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects
  • Response to customer and site questions, analyzing and assessing client specifications
  • Participation in tests and measurements at test stations, power plants, analysis of measurement results
  • Supervision and improvement of tools for calculating electric machines (electrical, electromagnetic, thermal, ventilation calculations) for the needs of configuration
  • Technical support for offers, sales, project management
  • Evaluation of erection, commissioning and operation electrical data
  • Possess an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of electrical design and analysis.
  • Work in close collaboration with design teams to ensure the homogeneity of the generator
  • Personal development in technical skills, in personal skills, and in culture and ability to keep budget, quality and schedule

Benefits

  • For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and §188,800.00.
  • The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
  • The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
  • Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
