Follow us at… Facebook Instagram LinkedIn POSITION SUMMARY: The Tunneling Project Manager is responsible for the timely execution and administration of assigned Tunneling projects safely and profitably consistent with the standards of quality and integrity. The primary responsibility is to manage a project by leading the planning and development of all project deliverables. The Project Manager is fully responsible for managing the budget and work plan and all Project Management Procedures.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering with 5+ years of subsurface work in relation to micro-tunneling or TBM’s. Prefer 2+ years’ experience in a project manager role with a contract value of $10M+.
  • Candidate must be able to read project manuals and spec books and implement all information into submittals RFI’s etc.
  • Experience in Heavy Construction
  • Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have above-average interpersonal skills, and have excellent follow-through capability.
  • Verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties on time, be highly organized, and able to interface and communicate effectively with the company, clients, and field personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall job safety as per the safety manual for the particular job.
  • Ensure that test holes are dug where required.
  • Report any damage to utility lines to the Vice President of Field Operations.
  • Ensure that the jobsite meets all OSHA standards, including cleanliness.
  • Ensure that everyone on the site is following all safety protocols, including AHAs and daily Tool Box Talks.
  • Perform daily quantity review.
  • Actively participate in the monthly review of estimates and pending submissions for payment.
  • Report all extra work or non-contract work to your Division Manager.
  • Process all estimates on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and submit change orders to the Owner.
  • Review/approve subcontractor invoices.
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll and equipment information.
  • Responsible for maintaining petty cash.
  • Responsible for obtaining and preparing the Monthly Cost Estimate/Forecast.
  • Track, monitor, and balance the budget.
  • Control all material deliveries, production schedule, and long lead-time items.
  • Coordinate all work with subcontractors.
  • Coordinate all utility requirements with providers.
  • Coordinate schedule activities with the site superintendent.
  • Notify Owner of all schedule impacts in accordance with Contract Documents.
  • Efficiently maintain all records and files in the field office.
  • Develop and implement a project schedule that meets the goals of the owner.
  • Ensure project activities are thoroughly and properly planned.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret plans and specs as it relates to trenchless technologies
  • Ensure that there is a draft for a 4-week look-ahead.
  • Prepare, submit, and track project-related correspondence, shop drawings, work schedules, and RFIs, and identify, process, and track change order requests for additional contract work.
  • Supervise and ensure that all tasks are carried out by the Project Team.
  • Offering coaching and guidance to junior team members
  • Representing the team as a key contact, liaising with high-level management
  • The administration of contract execution by the company’s core values, policies, and procedures.
