As a Tumor Registrar Assistant, you will: Case-Finding & Follow-Up: Identify and enter all reportable cancer cases and related clinical information into the registry database. Review patient medical records and maintain accurate follow‑up data, including disease status, recurrence, treatment updates, and death information. Communicate with Cancer Center physicians, external departments, and outside organizations to gather required information. Cancer Conferences & Quality Support: Help coordinate and prepare for regularly scheduled cancer conferences. Support quality review activities, cancer committee meetings, and tasks related to maintaining Cancer Center accreditation. Research Support: Assist with clinical trials and other research projects through accurate data collection. Qualifications:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • ≥ 1 year of Medical Records/Medical Terminology experience (Required)
  • ≥ 1 year of Anatomy & Physiology coursework or experience (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Case-Finding & Follow-Up: Identify and enter all reportable cancer cases and related clinical information into the registry database.

  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
