About The Position

Provide quality technical assistance as a student employee in the division of Information Technology.

Requirements

  • GPA of 2.0 or above.
  • Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attentiveness to detail, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and multitasking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence.
  • Knowledge of AV and Service Desk best practices and some recent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and enter issues into IT ticket system.
  • Assist users with software and hardware problems.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of computer equipment and multimedia systems.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks on college owned equipment to ensure clean and sanitized technology equipment.
  • Assist with live events, webinars, and video conferencing.
  • Assist with the daily reservation, distribution, and setup of college owned equipment.
  • Perform general office responsibilities, including data entry and working with inventory.
  • Perform related other duties as assigned
