Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience working on heavyduty trucks or commercial vehicles in a shop or fleet environment (or equivalent vocational/technical education in diesel/truck mechanics).
Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across engine, hydraulic, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment, read schematics/blueprints, and interpret technical repair manuals.
Physical ability to lift heavy parts (up to 75lbs or more), stand for extended periods, and work under shop conditions.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Strong work ethic, good communication skills, reliability, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

CDL or heavyduty endorsement is a plus (if role includes roadtesting or transportation duties)

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavyduty trucks, light vans, and commercial vehicles.
Diagnose and repair major mechanical and hydraulic systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, steering, and electrical systems.
Conduct thorough inspections, identify potential issues, and provide accurate diagnoses before repairs.
Use diagnostic tools, computerized scan equipment, hand and power tools to troubleshoot problems.
Perform preventive maintenance including fluid changes, filter replacements, lubrication, tire checks/rotations, and safety inspections.
Conduct roadtests or equipment operation tests to confirm repairs and ensure proper function before return to service.
Maintain accurate work orders, service logs, repair records, and documentation.
Collaborate with parts department or supply chain to order and track required parts and materials.
Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with all safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Assist fellow technicians or apprentices if required, and contribute to a teamworkoriented shop culture.
