About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Truck Switcher is to operate a Hilo/forklift in order to properly load completed orders onto the trucks or within the warehouse. This position is also responsible for switching trailers and transporting product to remote warehouses. This position is physically demanding and requires work in both extreme hot and cold environments. This position will operate a Hilo approximately 80% of the time and switch 20% of the time.

Requirements

• High School or GED required
• Valid CDL Class A Driver's license with less than 5 points REQUIRED
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds repetitively, 2000 cases per day
• Basic reading comprehension and mathematical skills
• Must be dependable, punctual, and be able to demonstrate good work habits
• Mental and physical ability to handle large quantities of product
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary
• Must be able to work in a hot and humid work environment
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating a forklift, certification preferred
• Previous experience in an industrial setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Move Trailers in and out of dock.
• Ensure trailer and container tag seals and intact.
• Inspect loads for cleanliness and quality.
• Accurately record receipts and shipments on documents and in computer system.
• Load and unload trucks (raw materials, finished products, equipment, etc.) when not driving.
• Consolidate product and raw materials.
• Responsible for conducting a safety inspection of the forklifts and switcher trucks.
• Maintain a sanitary, clean, and safe working environment.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
