FLEX |N| GATE - ROYAL OAK JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Truck Driver GENERAL SUMMARY: This person will already be an experienced Hilo driver and experienced Truck Driver with a four-wheel, semi-trailer or switcher and must be experienced in efficiently moving trailers of minimum 40 ft. from in/out of Docks to the Yard as needed/required each day. This position also requires the safe operation of combustion or electrical powered industrial lift trucks (hi-lo) designed to safely lift, stack, load, unload, move and transport various materials, tools, equipment and/or products from one location to another location (also includes loading/unloading onto a trailer). PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Requires the driving and loading/unloading of trucks on company property with a Hilo and previous work experience of driving a switcher, four-wheel or semi-trailer trucks to move trailers from docks to yard as required by the Company. Handle all necessary paperwork. Driver must be able to follow written or verbal instructions of moderate complexity. Required to safely and efficiently operate Hilo’s and Switcher as required by the Company. Must oversee and assist in loading, unloading and securing all cargoes and handle all required shipping paperwork. Drivers in Shipping must keep area clean and safe, this includes the Yard for racks stacked at a safe height and put in designated areas. Must complete daily Hi-lo and Switcher checklist. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES / EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Valid Michigan Driver’s License. Must be able to safely perform in fast paced environment Previous experience in driving a Switcher (or Semi-Truck) and transferring trailers in/out of docks and yard. Valid Flex-N-Gate Forklift License. (Note: Must pass training to be considered for backup or posted position). Must have at least 2.0 points on Attendance Record. Must be able to stand, kneel, lift, twist, bend and walk continuously. Must be able to productively work in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift, twist, bend, squat, climb, stand and walk continuously in close, confined surroundings. Must be able to work mandatory OT as required 6-7 days per week. COMMENTS This position description is not all-inclusive. This position is required to perform all other miscellaneous duties and functions as may be assigned. This includes working in all classifications that employee may be assigned to.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Driver’s License.
Must be able to safely perform in fast paced environment
Previous experience in driving a Switcher (or Semi-Truck) and transferring trailers in/out of docks and yard.
Valid Flex-N-Gate Forklift License.
