About The Position

This position is responsible to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening. This position requires a current valid State driver’s license. Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance. Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools. May perform air brake, electrical and air conditioning work. Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be able to read and understand assignments. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months of continuous employment within the last 2 years.
  • 1 year of industrial maintenance/mechanical experience.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
  • This position requires a current valid State driver’s license.
  • Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
  • Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools.
  • May perform air brake, electrical and air conditioning work.
