About The Position

This position is responsible to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Valid CDL for moving equipment from the plant to the shop and for trouble shooting equipment. Job duties include, but not limited to: 1. Must be able to service and maintain diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drive trains, tires and brake systems. 2. Maintain adequate records to meet DOT requirements. 3. Coordinate with shop supervisor in the preparation of vehicle cost statements, reports and analysis. 4. Coordinate with shop supervisor to ensure adequate shop supplies are maintained. 5. Assist in the maintenance of shop building, records, and materials in a safe and orderly fashion.

Requirements

  • Current CDL preferred
  • Prefer one year diesel mechanic experience or be a graduate of a diesel mechanic training program
  • Experience must be documented on application or resume
  • Experience can be a combination of employers as long as the experience is at least one year
