About The Position

Southern Transport, LLC was established in 2006 with a one-ton truck and a gooseneck trailer, hauling local hot shot loads. It has now grown into a very respected, national choice for heavy-haul transport, lifting and freight services. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Truck Mechanic at our Midland, Texas location. Position entails: Hours are 7-5 Monday through Friday (punctuality is a MUST) 7 days on call (which includes working Saturday and Sunday), 5 days off call (regular shop work) and 2 days off. Some traveling involved. Per diem is included when you travel. Candidate must possess knowledge ranging from changing tires to replacing turbos, etc. Must have strong diagnosing capability, proficiency in wiring, and knows the basics of hydraulics. Needs to be a team player and highly self-motivated. Candidate must be willing to go the extra mile and take care of issues before they become problems. Very fast paced environment. Fleet includes Peterbilt, Kenworth and Western Star. Cummins, Caterpillar, Paccar and Detroit engines. Work on Hot shot trucks and goosenecks occasionally. Requirements
