About The Position

This position is responsible for: Drives the Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick–up and/or deliver merchandise to customers: operates the truck in compliance with established Salvation Amry standers and state driving regulations; lift, carries, load and unloads variety of donations including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc; ensure the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assisting in preforming work in the thrift store and warehouse. Key Responsibilities: Confers regularly with the Donations scheduler to maintain awareness of the scheduled pick-pus of donations in accordance with the established policy. Organize scheduled pick-ups to ensure they are scheduled for the correct day of the week and geographical location. Prepare Donation receipts for customers; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensure the accuracy and completeness of the same. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomfits associated with the changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat, discomfits associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
