About The Position
This Position is responsible for: Reviews scheduled pick-ups to ensure they are scheduled for the correct day of the week and geographical location. Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army. Assists Truck Helper in unloading the truck at the warehouse. Delivers appliances and/or furniture as requested by customers. Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, AND one year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
- Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck.
Responsibilities
- Assists in loading the bail truck.
- Assists in cleaning and maintaining the warehouse and loading dock area.
- Assists in working in all areas of the Thrift Store operations as needed.
- Performs special projects as needed.
- Performs other related work as required.
