Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 21 or older
  • Possess a CDL
  • Must have a current motor vehicle report that represent a history of safe and competent driving
  • Must be able to work a maximum amount of hours allowed under D.O.T. hours of service regulations on various days / shifts.
  • Must posses or have the ability to obain a satisfactory DOT physical
  • Intermediate computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Team building skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Technical Skills: Industrial maintenance expertise in one or more disciplines (electrical or machine repair maintenance)
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and cover a lot of ground.
  • Must keep yourself hydrated in hot summer months.
  • Able to lift to 35lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Implements safe and efficient operating procedures while meeting established schedules
  • Efficiently load and/or unload freight using proper handling equipment
  • Take responsibility of and secure the equipment and/or cargo
  • Receive and verify dispatch instructions properly
  • Complete daily log when required and all other necessary paperwork
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of equipment
  • Maintain and update driving and safety skills
  • Perform duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service
  • Communicate with supervision to receive instructions, report delays or safety hazards and report accidents involving the driver or company equipment
  • Maintain a clean operating truck both inside and out
  • Perform other shipping related duties a assigned by the supervisor which could include but not limited to working a crane, driving a hi-lo, helping on the production floor
