The Truck Driver is responsible for loading and unloading trucks hauling scrap metal, inspecting metal grades for inventory tracking, and performing daily DOT operation and safety inspections. This role involves communicating with the office and customers to determine commodities for loading, working independently while driving scrap metal, and assisting customers with their needs. The driver will also collaborate with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment. Key responsibilities include performing normal daily operational maintenance such as refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping. The position requires cleaning up the work area at the end of each shift, maintaining neat and orderly work areas, and ensuring regular attendance and punctuality. Organizing materials for effective space utilization, disposing of various waste materials appropriately, and conducting inspections to ensure cleanup is completed are also essential. Effective housekeeping is an ongoing operation for safety and hygienic conditions for all team members. The role also requires compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
