Nabholz ConstructionConway, AR
2d

About The Position

Originally founded as a small construction company in 1949, Nabholz is now a team of more than 1,200 industry leading professionals working together to serve our clients, communities, and each other. Over the last 75+ years, we've grown into a national multi-service contractor offering a full range of construction, industrial, civil, and environmental services. Summary:  Drivers typically transport cargo and/or crane attachments; inspect trucks for safety, looking for malfunctioning parts; inspect cargo to ensure that it is loaded correctly; and review shipping documents. CDL is required. Riggers help set up or operate machines that move heavy objects including steel plates, bundles of steel rods, drilling towers, platforms, and the heavy construction equipment used to build and take down steel structures. Riggers have many responsibilities. They decide which pulleys, booms, braces, and cables are strong enough for each job. They also must know where to attach the hooks, chains, and cables to lift a load safely. In some cases, riggers build equipment around the object to be moved, such as a tower or boom. While the object is being lifted, riggers use hand signals and other means to direct crane operators and help guide the objects into place. Crane operators operate traveling or stationary overhead crane (cab- or ground controlled) to lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials, using hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket.
