About The Position

Transports merchandise to and from stores and donation collection sites per a regular schedule or as needed; Operates trucks and trailers in a safe manner reporting all incidents/accidents in a timely manner and according to policy; Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of trailers and necessary documentation; Communicates accidents and breakdowns to Transportation Manager and assists repair crew as necessary; Drops off and picks up tractor trailers from routine maintenance sites as requested; Loads and unloads trucks and properly stores and/or stages materials; Has working knowledge of transportation/warehouse/distribution operations; Able to prioritize and complete tasks and assignments with numerous interruptions and little direct supervision; Understands and can operate warehouse equipment including tractor trailers and manual and electric pallet jacks in a safe manner; Effectively communicates and able to interact with a diverse workforce; Maintains a professional and courteous attitude at all times. Completes other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Contingent on license verification, DOT physical and other standard pre-employment requirements
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current DOT physical
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted commercial driver’s license (CDL) class A
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • May be required to regularly stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach with hands/arms with full range of motion, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull
  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold, handle and feel objects, knobs, keys and/or buttons

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of commercial driver experience preferred
