About The Position

Mountain Parks Electric is a distribution cooperative seeking individuals for the Troubleman Lineman positions in our Kremmling, Colorado location. MPE is headquartered in Granby, Colorado located at an elevation of 7,935 feet, 90 miles from Denver International Airport and 25 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Experience gold-medal fishing in the Colorado and Fraser Rivers or take a boat out on Lake Granby, the second largest body of water in Colorado. Granby is near Shadow Mountain and Grand Lake and offers spectacular scenery, miles of hiking trails connecting Granby to Fraser, Colorado, downhill skiing, mountain bike trail systems, and down-hill bike park and cross-country trails at nearby resorts. The Troubleman Lineman is responsible for responding to power outages, system disturbances, and emergencies. The individual in this position ensures the reliability and safety of the electric distribution system by troubleshooting, maintaining, and restoring service in a timely and efficient manner. This position diagnoses and troubleshoots issues on all voltages required throughout MPE's system, including but not limited to substations, overhead and underground lines, transformers, and other equipment. They assist line crews with constructing, installing, maintaining, and retiring primary and secondary high voltage electrical facilities on energized and de-energized lines both above ground and underground and on all voltages required throughout the system.

Requirements

  • Journeyman lineman with an additional 3 years closely related and progressive job experience, with a thorough understanding of electric distribution systems; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Colorado Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and must keep current and valid throughout employment.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification required within 3 months of hire. Must keep current and valid throughout employment.
  • Must reside within a 45-minute response time of service area center, and within service territory.
