About The Position

The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. It is where students live, where they gather, where they improve themselves, each other, and their university. DASA is where students seek guidance and support, both in and outside of the classroom. The division serves all students at NC State through three integrated components: academic affairs, student affairs, and University College. NC State wants employees to achieve their highest potential at work, learn more about our employee value proposition here (You Belong Here). The Division of Academic and Student Affairs is the place to work for values-driven faculty and staff who are passionate about promoting the success of the whole student. TRIO Programs were established to support the nation's commitment to provide educational opportunity for all Americans to enter college, graduate, and move on to participate more fully in realizing "America's Economic and Social Dream." These Programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are referred to as TRIO Programs because initially there were just three programs Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Support Services. The number has now expanded to include Educational Opportunity Centers, Ronald E, McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program, Upward Bound Math & Science and Veterans Upward Bound. The Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the TRIO Collegiate Programs (Student Support Services, Student Support Services STEM, and Ronald E. McNair Scholars) and Pack Support Programs (1887 Scholars, First in the Pack, and Pack Promise). This role manages office workflow for six professional staff and a Director while providing excellent support to students, faculty mentors, and peer tutors. If you are an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping others succeed and thrives in a dynamic, student-centered environment, we encourage you to apply-especially if you bring strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently with flexibility and initiative.
