The Center for Academic Excellence and the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program are at the heart of that mission, and seek to ensure that all students strive for and achieve academic excellence and, ultimately, graduate from Illinois College. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a team of professionals committed to student success. The academic coach will primarily provide students with advice, guidance, advocacy and connection to other support services on campus. The academic coach will work individually and with groups of students to promote academic excellence and goal persistence. Meet regularly with an estimated 45 SSS participants to coach them toward developing, updating, and meeting ILP goals and assisting participants with postsecondary course selection, degree planning, and transfer and graduate school guidance. Monitor academic achievement of participants through a combination of qualitative and quantitative tools. Prepare and lead workshops on academic and study skills, financial literacy, and scholarship opportunities, provide guidance on graduate school opportunities. Coordinate SSS Study & STEM Institute. Teach one section of IC 103 First-Year Foundation each fall and spring semester. Program coordinator for First-Class Mentor Program and co-facilitate mentor training. Coordinate and lead multiple graduate school and cultural trips each semester. ACI data reporting, budgeting, and meetings for First-Class Mentor Program Meet with and present to groups of students visiting to inform them about academic services provided at Illinois College Present workshops for First-Year Seminar courses Serve as First-Gen Club faculty advisor
