Are you ready to play an important role in the hardwood lumber industry? Brownlee Lumber, Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Trimmer Operator to join our team on the first shift. In this role, you will operate the trimmer station in our sawmill, helping ensure boards are cut to proper lengths and routed correctly through production. You will work alongside a skilled team in a fast-paced environment to keep lumber moving efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the sawmill trimmer station to cut boards to proper lengths according to production standards.
  • Route boards to the appropriate outfeed based on grade, length, and processing needs.
  • Maintain awareness of grade and length requirements while making trimming and routing decisions.
  • Monitor board flow and ensure lumber moves efficiently through the trimmer and into downstream processes.
  • Communicate with team members to maintain steady production flow and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Report equipment issues, jams, or irregular lumber flow to supervisors or maintenance staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation while following all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
