About The Position

The Tribal Administrator reports to the CTGR Business Council, supervises staff and programs, manages grants and trust assets, enforces policies, and supports the Tribal Council in achieving tribal goals.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, is preferred but equivalent relevant experience is acceptable.
  • A minimum of three years in an administrative capacity can include a combination of education, training, and experience in a position of similar responsibility.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles and practices in following administrative functions: Employment, Law, Fiscal Operations, Audit Preparation, Financial Management, Human resources/Personnel, Property and Contract Management.
  • Experience in skill building the areas of conflict resolution and team building.
  • Requires effective presentation verbally and professional written communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with all levels of employees and managers.
  • Experience planning and directing work projects; experience developing long and short-range program plans and budgets.
  • Possess ability and willingness to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Must submit to an intensive background check for Tribal Council review and approval.
  • Must hold a valid State Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Consult on daily basis with Tribal Council, Directors, and employees - ensuring departments and programs align with the overall direction, goals, and sovereignty of the tribe.
  • Provide overall supervision of all CTGR Tribal staff.
  • Implement, develop and revise CTGR Tribal Policies and Procedures as needed.
  • Exercise sound judgment in all decision-making processes.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state requirements and other contractual guidelines.
  • Possess expertise and experience in audits, budgeting, planning, and daily accounting functions.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive and punctual reports.
  • Keep the CTGR Business Council informed on all administrative matters by providing regular updates and guidance.
  • Collaborate effectively with CTGR Tribal Program Staff, Tribal Members, Non-member community representatives, federal and state agencies, tribal constituents and other Native American organizations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in contract and grant negotiations, compliance protocols, and funding procedures.
  • Remain open and committed to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
