Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Triage RN, you will rapidly assess and prioritize patients' healthcare needs, directing them to the appropriate level of care.Every day you will conduct patient interviews, evaluate symptoms, perform initial assessments, and apply critical thinking to determine urgency and disposition. You will also provide advice, educate, and coordinate care.To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking, rapid assessment abilities, and strong communication, managing priorities effectively under pressure to ensure timely and appropriate patient attention.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and three years clinical RN experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting, upon hire and
• Registered Nurse: WA DOH license

• Previous telephone triage/call center RN experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for triaging incoming calls from patients, assessing needs, giving appropriate clinicaldispositions based on established protocols.
• Facilitates access to primary care providers, specialists, healthcare facilities and community resources.
• Provides education to patients regarding immediate care advice, chronic diseasemanagement, and preventative healthcare maintenance.
• Adapts communication style to patients representing diverse personal, professional,cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Ability to multi-task utilizing critical thinking, verbal and listening communication skills while performing data entry.
• Utilizes decision support tools and electronic health record (EMR) to document allinformation which incorporates excellent computer and typing skills and the ability tonavigate multiple applications concurrently
