About The Position

Location(s): Abingdon, VA / Richlands, VA / Norton, VA / Castlewood, VA Job Type: Hourly; Part-Time and Full-Time options available Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent · Valid Driver's License to commute to assigned practice locations and as requested · Current CMA or CCMA certification a plus · Current Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) · Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or primary care · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · Strong organizational and time management abilities · Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems · Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures · Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Key Responsibilities: · Perform routine clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, drawing blood, and collecting laboratory specimens · Obtain and document patient medical histories, current symptoms, and other relevant information · Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers with patient examinations, wellness assessments, and procedures · Support patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; drawing blood, preparing lab specimens; disposing of contaminated supplies; telephone prescriptions to pharmacies; authorizing medication refills as directed by physician; obtaining reports and records as ordered or requested by providers · Conduct patient education on health management, treatment plans, and preventive care · Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records · Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate authorizations and referrals to specialists · Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families · Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and manage electronic communications · Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives · Assist in the management and monitoring of patients receiving addiction treatment, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) · Provide support in behavioral health interventions, including patient screenings, assessments, and follow-up care · Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies · Maintain safe and secure work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations · Serve and protect the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, procedures, and all federal, state, and local requirements · Enhance the health care facility’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments · Other duties, as assigned View all jobs at this company

Requirements
